Sustainable Product Design Initiative – Fashion / Fibers / Accessory Specialist

Curious is a collection of special design-led projects, leveraging creativity to push boundaries and explore new possibilities. As part of this initiative, Curious is seeking a designer with expertise or strong interest in fashion and/or fibers to explore the use of sustainable materials by crafting an innovative hat prototype. This project offers the opportunity to collaborate on bringing this product to market as part of the broader Curious team.

You’ll work remotely as part of a small, collaborative team, with the potential to co-create alongside 1–2 other designers working on related projects, including fashion, furniture, and sustainable packaging.

What You’ll Do

• Research and experiment with sustainable materials, focusing on structuring, textile-based applications, and wearable design.
• Design and develop a hat prototype that balances aesthetics, functionality, and material exploration.
• Contribute ideas and innovative solutions to help evolve the product toward market readiness.
• Engage in creative exploration to push the boundaries of sustainable and fashion-forward design.

Ideal Candidate

• A self-starter with experience or strong interest in fashion design, fibers, textiles, or wearable art.
• Passionate about sustainability and eager to innovate with cutting-edge materials.
• Open-minded and collaborative, with a drive to explore design for good.
• Comfortable working independently while engaging with a small, supportive team to shape something new and impactful.

• Compensation: $20+/hour.
• Hours: Part-time, flexible schedule.
